Howdy! Your friend Dave Shameless here. Thought I'd share a little hobby of
mine that I pursue as I travel this great land of ours. When you're on the
road as much as I am, you're always in need of clean, quiet places to take
care of your "personal business." This quest has now evolved to the systematic
leaving of "personal business" in every state capitol building in the union.
Like the great cathedrals of Europe, our state capitol buildings are local landmarks, generally open to the public and full of historical self-bravado. With, of course, the added bonus of clean, quiet, facilities. I'll leave any political interpretation to the pundits and your good judgment. --Dave Shameless |

November, 2009.
Rather massive detour on the Chicago/LA run... Montana finally
achieved!
|
|
|
June, 2006.
Legends of NoFi package tour. Hit a whole mess of new locations,
especially in the Southeast. A couple of them didn't pan out. Also
revisited a couple of places I'd been before and got better photos.

|
|
January, 2006.
Hit Kansas on the way out to the west coast. Middle of the
country locked down! An east coast run tentatively scheduled
for June.

|
|
July, 2005.
New international targets attained while visiting
Switzerland.
|
|
|
April, 2004.
Reminder to poop for peace on the 15th. (See
the PoopReport for details).
Plans are coming together to attempt a couple
of international targets in July.
|
|
|
September, 2004.
South Dakota plus a couple of national monuments.
|
|
|
February, 2004.
A mighty successful road trip through the Southwest. 5 regular targets
plus the fulfillment of the first ever request (man, you just gotta
do the Alamo... do it for Ozzy, man...) I'm also looking ahead to the
difficult non-contiguous states. May have to set up a fund and ask for
some help from the discerning public for financial assistance. This
isn't just my dream, after all.

August, 2003.
The half way mark was reached on Friday, July 25, 2003 in Boston. Two
short back-to-back road trips yeild 5 hits in 7 attempts.
|
|
|
June, 2003.
Operations have been expanded to include international targets. These
targets will be less "political" in nature, though leaving monuments
at monuments is always desirable. The first international report comes
from Korea.
(More domestic targets are scheduled for August).

|
February, 2003.
Quick run through the midwest, 4 hits in as many days. Somehow avoided
the massive snowfall...

|
|
November, 2002.
Ok, Scott... the progress map is now clickable as per your request. Enjoy it
in good health.

October, 2002.
What makes an "unsuccessful" mission? Typcially, it's arriving at the target
site when it's not open to the public. It counts as an attempt if visual
contact is made with the target and the mission is then aborted for any reason.

|
|
August, 2002.
Five targets hit on this trip. A few additional ones had to be aborted as we
didn't arrive at the target site until after hours. It has been suggested that
I be more rigorous in documenting date and time of events from now on. I agree.

May, 2002.
Just wanted to confirm that all the building photography is my own.
|
|
|
February, 2002.
Six targets achieved during February road trip. Getting requests for more
visual documentation of the actual "mission by-products" left at the scene.
All I can say is that you guys are sick MFs. I have decided on a compromise:
I will start including more interior documentation and suggest that if you
want to look at "by-product" you might want to look
here.
